Americans are coming together for Cover the Uninsured Week 2005. From May 1- 8, individuals and organizations from every sector of society will join together to tell our leaders that health coverage for all Americans must be their top priority.
In communities across the country, events will spotlight the fact that fewer small businesses are able to provide coverage for their employees, and those that do are struggling to hold on to the coverage they offer.
Here are a few ways to get involved:
- Learn more by downloading the Guide to Health Insurance Options for Small Businesses. This guide provides information on health insurance and coverage options--plan types, costs, laws and regulations.
- Hold luncheons with local business groups such as the Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis or Rotary clubs, where small business owners can share their experiences. Distribute the Guide to Health Insurance Options for Small Businesses.
- Place an interview on a local radio news show, a National Public Radio (NPR) station or news radio program to discuss how small business owners can find health coverage for their employees.
- Conduct workshops to inform business owners about the options available using the Guide to Health Insurance Options for Small Businesses.
- Submit an op-ed article to a newspaper that highlights the benefits an employer has observed since providing coverage to employees.
