Get started planning an activity on campus.

Americans are coming together for Cover the Uninsured Week 2005. From May 1- 8, individuals and organizations from every sector of society will join together to tell our leaders that health coverage for all Americans must be their top priority.

In communities across the country, campus events will spotlight the fact that too many Americans are living without health care coverage. These activities will bring together medical, nursing, public health and dental students and faculty as well as other concerned citizens.

Use the Campus Event Planning Guide to assist you in planning an event on your campus.

Here are a few ways to get involved:

  1. Plan lectures or panel discussions featuring students, faculty, people who are uninsured and guest speakers. Use the PowerPoint presentation to guide your discussions.
  2. Work with professors to devote class sessions or clinical "Grand Rounds" to the issue of the uninsured.
  3. Submit editorials, letters to the editor, and articles about Cover the Uninsured Week campus activities to student and alumni newspapers and magazines.
  4. Volunteer at Cover the Uninsured Week health and enrollment fairs in your community.
  5. Distribute information about resources for uninsured students.
