Americans are coming together for Cover the Uninsured Week 2005. From May 1- 8, individuals and organizations from every sector of society will join together to tell our leaders that health coverage for all Americans must be their top priority.
In communities across the country, health and enrollment fairs will bring together doctors, nurses, dentists, other health professionals and members of the community. Health fairs provide uninsured individuals access to basic preventive services, screenings and information about low-cost or free health care coverage programs. They also send a strong message about the importance of health care coverage and convey to the community that everyone should have access to health care services every day, not just during a health and enrollment fair. We encourage you to become involved by organizing, promoting and attending health and enrollment fairs in your community.
Assistance and materials are available to help you organize a health and enrollment fair:
- Use the Cover the Uninsured Week Health and Enrollment Fair Planning Guide to help plan your event.
- State Resource Guides offer information on resources that may provide help for uninsured individuals. Distribute them at your health fairs.
- Order promotional banners, stickers and other materials for your events.
